Notice Global Dance Competition 'Dance Supremacy' Debuts in Korea
The global dance performance competition, Dance Supremacy, is coming to Korea in 2025. First launched in the Philippines in 2017, Dance Supremacy has expanded its reach to Malaysia, Canada, Japan, and beyond, establishing a strong presence in the global dance scene through a variety of programs such as the International (Global Competition), Kings & Queens (Student Division), Film Fest (Dance Film Festival), DS Battle (Street Dance Battle), and DS Dance Concert. The Korea qualifiers will be held across two separate events at the Paco Art Hall within the Mokdong Artists' Center.
On Saturday, July 26, the Kings & Queens division will take center stage, showcasing fierce competition among middle and high school dancers.
Following this, on Saturday, September 13, the International division will select the teams to represent Korea on the global stage. For the Kings & Queens division, several teams from both Korea and abroad have already completed early registration, setting the stage for an even more heated competition on the day of the event.
Meanwhile, the International division will feature top teams selected through preliminary rounds held in Canada, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Korea.
The ultimate winner will earn a coveted spot at the World Finals, set to take place in Tokyo, Japan. Beyond the competitions, various events such as dance workshops led by world-class dancers will offer participants and audiences an unforgettable experience. The judges and guest performers will be revealed sequentially starting from the second week of May.
The first announced guest is Tsubakill, the renowned dance team from Japan, who rose to international fame following their appearance on Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter 2.
Tsubakill is expected to showcase the strength and experience they've built through their continued global activities.
글로벌 댄스 퍼포먼스 경연 대회 'Dance Supremacy(댄스슈프리머시)' 가 2025년 한국에 상륙한다. 2017년 필리핀을 시작으로 말레이시아, 캐나다, 일본 등 세계 각국으로 확장하며 주목받아 온 댄스슈프리머시는, '인터내셔널(국제 경연)', '킹스앤퀸즈(학생부)', '필름페스트(댄스 영상제)', 'DS 배틀(스트릿댄스 배틀)', 'DS 댄스콘서트' 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 글로벌 댄스 씬에서 확고한 존재감을 드러내고 있다. 이번 한국 경연은 목동 예술인센터 파코아트홀에서 두 차례에 걸쳐 열린다. 7월 26일 토요일에는 중·고등학생을 대상으로 한 '킹스앤퀸즈' 부문이 개최되어, 젊은 댄서들의 치열한 경쟁이 펼쳐질 예정이다. 이어 9월 13일 토요일에는 한국 대표팀을 선발하는 '인터내셔널' 부문 예선이 이어지며, 뜨거운 열기를 이어간다. '킹스앤퀸즈' 부문은 한국은 물론, 해외 팀들이 선 참가 신청을 완료해 개최 당일 더욱 뜨거운 무대가 예상된다. 또한 '인터내셔널(국제 경연)' 부문은 캐나다, 말레이시아, 필리핀, 한국 등 다양한 국가에서 예선을 거쳐 선발된 팀들이 참가하며, 최종 우승팀에게는 일본 도쿄에서 열리는 월드 파이널 진출권이 주어진다. 경연 대회 외에도 해외 실력파 댄서들이 진행하는 댄스 워크숍 등의 이벤트들이 함께 열려, 참가자와 관객 모두에게 특별한 경험을 선사할 예정이다. 심사위원 및 게스트 라인업은 5월 둘째주부터 순차적으로 공개되며, 첫 번째 공개 게스트로 일본의 유명 댄스팀 츠바킬(Tsubakill) 이 무대에 오른다. 츠바킬은 엠넷 '스트릿 우먼 파이터2' 이후 글로벌 활동을 이어오며 쌓아 온 저력을 이번 무대에서 다시 한번 증명할 계획이다. |
